Doubly bother, you have run out. This means a trip to the pharmacy or for some depending on illness the GP. Worst case scenario could involve a visit to the hospital. Hang on where is the hospital, how do I get there? Knowing where the pharmacy, GP and hospital are, can alleviate any extra stress when you are unwell.

- Claypath medical centre is located on the edge of Claypath, and University practice is located off Whinney hill facing the racecourse.
- There is a Boots Pharmacy in Durham city centre, the pharmacy counter is at the back (as you approach from the market entrance) near the entrance onto the high street https://www.boots.com/stores/561-durham-market-place-dh1-3nb
- There is a Well Pharmacy next to Claypath medical centre on the Gilesgate road.
- University Hospital of North Durham has an A&E department. It also has an Urgent Treatment Centre for less severe illnesses where you may be directed by 111.
- The GP and pharmacy are both within walking distance from the colleges, but the PR2 bus goes from the hill colleges to the bottom of Claypath, which can help save time.
- If you are needing to go the hospital many students use a taxi or Uber this is probably the quickest way.
- To get to the hospital from the hill colleges can require 2 buses. The 42 to the bus station, then 50, 20, X20 or X21 bus out to the hospital. This generally takes about 30 minutes. From the bailey it is best to walk to the bus station then bus from there.
- Alternatively walking to hospital from the hill colleges takes about 1 hour.
